GPS REMOTE AND TIMED RELEASE COLLARS
The model G2110B (350 gram) and G2000 (1100 gram) GPS Collars

The Advanced Telemetry Systems GPS G2000 Remote-Release Collar and G2110B Timed-Release Collar are powerful tools for effective, efficient wildlife studies. The collar design is smaller and lighter than first-generation collars and can be remotely triggered (G2000) to drop off the animal on command with the available ATS Command Unit, or be programmed to release at a predetermined time (G2110B). Either collar will also automatically drop off as it reaches the end of its battery life to ensure data retrieval. Up to 8,190 locations can be stored on board the unit for data offload using Windows® based collar communication software.

These GPS collars incorporate a VHF transmitter to signal location. The VHF transmitter also transmits the status of the last GPS coordinate, mortality, and battery condition. The researcher has the ability to query the GPS collar in order to retrieve the number of GPS coordinates stored, time without a location, time until next location, and GPS sample rate. The ATS collar also provides data on animal activity, ambient temperature, mortality, battery voltage, and the amount of time logged on the battery backup. Model G2000 GPS Collar Features

Large Data Storage Capacity
• Stores up to 8190 locations may be stored for later retrieval. Up to one year life depending on sampling rates. Data will remain retrievable even after power is lost.

Remote Collar Release
• The collar can be remotely triggered to drop off on command using a Command Unit available from ATS on a rental or purchase basis.

Low Battery Release
• Collar will automatically drop off when the battery reaches the end of its life. The VHF transmitter operates for at least 30 days after the collar is dropped.

Multiple GPS Sampling Rates Available
• Up to three different intervals may be used. Helpful in extending battery life.

Standard VHF Beacon Included
• VHF transmitter beeps at different rates or patterns to indicate status information to the user (i.e., status of last GPS attempt, mortality, low battery, activity, etc.).

Windows® Based Collar Communication Software Included
• Software is used to offload the collar's stored GPS locations and to access its programmable features. Compatible with Windows® 98, NT, 2000 and XP.

Remote Collar Queries
• Collar transmits information on the number of GPS coordinates stored, time without a location, time until next location, and GPS sample rate.

Activity Sensor Included
• Keeps cumulative count of tilt switch movements since the last GPS coordinate was recorded.

Mortality Sensor Included
• Allows the researcher to know when the animal has not moved within a user-defined time period.

Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Included
• Records external temperature each time a GPS location is acquired, accurate to ±2 degrees Celsius with resolution to a sixteenth of a degree.

VHF Transmitter Duty Cycles Available
• Turning off the VHF transmitter at unnecessary times will save power, enabling longer GPS battery life and more data.

GPS Engine
• 12-channel Trimble (tm) for more locations and higher quality coordinates.
